Attorney General Salazar Announces Settlement in $41 Million Buspar Fund Denver-- Attorney General Ken Salazar announced today that Colorado purchasers of the prescription drug known as BuSpar®, a drug widely prescribed for the treatment of anxiety, may now obtain forms needed to file a claim for restitution from the $41.7 million nationwide consumer settlement fund. The settlement of this antitrust lawsuit brought by Attorney General Ken Salazar and the 49 other state Attorneys General, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico has received preliminary approval from the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, and is subject to final approval. Claim forms are available at www.busparsettlement.com, or may be obtained by calling 1-800-678-9587. Claims must be filed no later than October 10, 2003. This consumer settlement fund is a part of the $100 million settlement with Bristol-Myers Squibb announced earlier this year. Colorado’s lawsuit alleged that Bristol-Myers Squibb engaged in fraudulent conduct that stopped generic versions of BuSpar from reaching consumers. |
