3rd Annual Denver Fight Fraud-Shred Instead Event

July 18, 2007

“Fight Fraud – Shred Instead” a unique opportunity to discard personal documents

AARP ElderWatch and the Colorado Attorney General’s Office are pleased to announce the 3rd Annual, “Fight Fraud - Shred Instead,” to be held on Saturday, Sept. 15 from 10 AM – 2 PM at Windsor Gardens (595 South Clinton Street, Denver). This unique opportunity provides older Coloradans and their families a way to safely discard no longer needed or outdated personal and financial documents.

Shred-It, an international shredding company, and Windsor Gardens have joined the effort. Shred-It will provide two trucks capable of shredding a carton of paper in mere minutes at no charge. Windsor Gardens has generously donated their facility for the event and will hold it in their office parking area.

While AARP ElderWatch genuinely hopes that older consumers will take advantage of this special day, all are welcome. Please note, while there is no limit to the amount of boxes, please no truckloads. All documents shredded that day will be recycled.

AARP ElderWatch volunteers will be on hand to assist with unloading boxes and transporting them to the trucks. Participants will be able to drive through, unload, and obtain an information packet including key consumer information as they depart.

AARP ElderWatch is a project of the Colorado Attorney General and the AARP Foundation. For more information call 1-800-222-4444 option 2 or visit online at www.aarpelderwatch.org.
