- Overall, from the 4 sites (Denver, Colorado Springs/Black Forest, Pueblo and Ft. Collins), we shredded 1150 consumers’ personal and financial documents. (This is a 33% increase from last year!-and we had fewer sites) Denver/Windsor Gardens being the busiest with over 534 people served! (they started lining up there one hour prior to opening)
- We estimate that we shredded over 26,000 pounds of paper and saved 130 trees, since everything will be recycled!
- We had over 60 volunteers and 4 community partners participate, including AARP Chapters and the AARP Information Center.
- We had coverage in about 12 newspapers, 1 radio station, many online calendars and a Colorado Springs media outlet did pre/post coverage of the event.
- The Attorney Generals visit to one of the sites’ was a big hit with consumers and volunteers!
- Oldest document shredded (that I know of) was from 1989!!!!!! A 20 year old document!
