Investments:
Questions You Should Ask!

Investment fraud is increasing and even though all investments have some risk, to help avoid swindlers The National Futures Association recommends that you ask the following before committing to any investment:

  • What risks are involved in the proposed investment?
  • Can you send a prospectus of your investment so I can review it at my leisure?
  • Would you mind explaining the investment to a third party, such as my attorney, accountant or other financial advisor?
  • Can you provide references?
  • Are the investments you are offering traded on a regulated exchange, such as a securities or futures exchange?
  • What governmental or industry supervision is your firm subject to?
  • How long has your company been in business and what has your track record been?
  • When and where can I meet with another representative of your firm?
  • Where, exactly, will my money be and what type of accounting statements will be provided?
  • How can I liquidate the investment if and when I decide I want my money?
  • If I have a dispute, how will it be resolved?

Swindlers hate questions. They will be reluctant to answer and may even get angry. Good investment companies want you to ask questions and be as informed as possible. Swindlers just want your money. Ask, investigate and don’t ever believe that you don’t have that right. It is your money!
