Volunteer Opportunity: Field Ambassador

 

Program: AARP ElderWatch is designed to reduce the financial exploitation of elder Coloradans

 

Mission: to ensure that no older person is left to suffer, alone and in silence, at the hand of those who exploit them.

 

Objective of position: to help represent AARP ElderWatch in the communities of Colorado, by presenting information regarding AARP ElderWatch and training communities on how to keep safe from scams and frauds.

 

Responsibilities of position:

● Serve as a liaison in your area on the goals and mission of AARP ElderWatch

● Become the contact person in your community with Senior Housing and Senior Centers if they need more information regarding AARP ElderWatch

 

Qualifications:

● Enjoy working with people

● Ability to communicate effectively with AARP ElderWatch and agencies in your area

● Some prior public speaking experience

 

Time required: Each volunteer sets their own pace and sets own schedule. The time required will vary on requests from organizations for speakers.

 

Training required: will be conducted over phone or through computer training (if applicable)

 

Travel Required: Within your community.

 

Expense reimbursement: position not eligible for reimbursement unless prior authorization prearranged by AARP ElderWatch

 

Working relations: The FA will work closely with senior centers, senior housing and other local senior and community service providers.
